KUALA LUMPUR - The government has spent more than RM62 million for the Keluarga Malaysia brand during Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob 's administration from August 2021 to November 2022.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Duties) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the RM62,093,139.05 amount represented more than 98 per cent of the government's branding expenditure under three prime ministers from March 2020 to Jan 30, this year.

"The Kerajaan Prihatin branding expenditure under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin amounted to RM181,752.20 while the Malaysia Madani under Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's administration amounted to RM489,216.

"Financial records from the Prime Minister's Department showed that the government had spent as much as RM62,764,107.25 until Jan 30, to organise programmes related to Kerajaan Prihatin, Keluarga Malaysia and Malaysia Madani.

"The expenditure was calculated based on the roadshow programmes held starting from the eighth prime minister's administration until now," he said in a written answer that was read in Dewan Rakyat.

The statement was in response to Aminolhuda Hasan's (PH-Sri Gading) question regarding allocations spent on the government's branding during the administration of three prime ministers' namely Muhyiddin, Ismail Sabri and Anwar.

Armizan added that only Kerajaan Prihatin was implemented during Muhyiddin's administration since the country was under the Movement Control Order (MCO).
