IPOH - Umno Perak supports all six candidates who had submitted their names to contest Umno Supreme Council (MKT) positions in the party elections this month.

Perak Umno chairman Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the candidates were Lumut Division Umno chief Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir; Lenggong Divison Umno vice chief Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah and Ipoh East Division Umno chief Datuk Azian Osman.

"Additionally, there are Pasir Salak Umno deputy chief Khairul Azwan Harun; Perak Youth chief Datuk Mohd Ariff Abdul Majid and Beruas Umno chief Datuk Dr Azhar Ahmad.

"They have sent and registered their names as MKT candidates and Perak Umno supports them all," he told reporters at Perak Women's Month 2023 pre-launch ceremony and submitting Perak Sejahtera Scholar Publication Grant 2030 at Menteri Besar's office here today.

Saarani, who also won the Lenggong Division Umno chief post uncontested, advised all candidates to compete healthily during the election.

"If there is a manifesto, we can say that that we will do according to the mandate given and we don't have to do it while sneering, hurting and ignoring the service done by others.

"We, each have our own strengths and weaknesses, so we make the best out of it in leading the party. A reminder to myself and everyone to not look down on each other," he said.

He added that Umno practices democracy and allowed each of the member to contribute to the party.
