PASIR SALAK - Pasir Salak Umno division deputy chief Khairul Azwan Harun wins the Pasir Salak Umno division chief post in a party representative meeting at Dewan Besar Bandar Baru Felcra Seberang Perak, Changkat Lada, here, on Saturday.

Azwan, 47, barely won against challenger Dr Faizal Tajuddin who is the eldest son of Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.

The unofficial results as of 7pm witnessed Azwan obtaining 342 votes while Faizal had 296 votes.

The victory of the former Umno youth vice president ends Tajuddin's legacy of holding the title since 2004.

Khairul Azwan who is also known as Azwan Bro also contested for the 2023-2026 Umno Supreme Council member post.

The Pasir Salak Umno division chief post was left empty after Tajuddin was suspended for six years.

However, as of 8pm the decision of other posts have yet to be obtained or announced.
