No fights for seats, Nik Nazmi says everything good in Kelantan
PUTRAJAYA - Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has denied speculation about conflict in negotiating for seats between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) ahead of the upcoming state election in Kelantan.
The Kelantan PKR State Leadership Council (MPN) chairman said it was because the previous discussion had showed positive developments.
"I have attended a series of these discussion, starting from the informal discussion between PKR and Umno leaders.
"Followed by BN-PH meeting at the central level and then a meeting with PH and BN leadership at the Kelantan state level.
"Alhamdulillah so far... the discussion flowed positively and there was no fighting.
"Of course there was some overlapping demands from either PH or BN but that's the norm of seat negotiations," he told Sinar here.
On April 8, PH and BN had agreed that all incumbent seats will remain with the winning party in the 14th General Election (GE14) for the upcoming state elections.
PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said this was agreed on during the recent initial discussions for seat allocations
Meanwhile, Nik Nazmi said the discussion was the first time in history PH and BN had to negotiate and generally it went in a positive direction.
"Just like Terengganu, we have decided that Umno and BN should be in the front line in Kelantan as they have more history in both states.
"But PKR, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and PH still want to participate in the state elections," he said.
