KOTA BHARU - Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob has urged Kelantanese voters, including those living outside the state to ensure the success of Pas and Perikatan Nasional's (PN) victory in the upcoming state election by returning to vote and defend the parties.

He said overwhelming support is crucial during state elections.

“We want to continue making Islam the basis of administration in this Mecca-like land. This struggle will probably take between 10 to 30 years because of the challenges faced.

“We need the strong support of the people of Kelantan in the upcoming state elections to ensure planned programmes run smoother,” he said during a speech at the State Leaders’ Mesra Aidilfitri Ceremony at Balai Islam Lundang here on Sunday.

The Pasir Pekan Assemblyman said voters in Kelantan often showed their support for the state despite working in other states.

“Kelantan children will surely return home to the state during festivals and holidays,” he said.
