KOTA BHARU - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim insisted that the government would find funds and implement a complete water supply project to solve the water issues plaguing Kelantan.

He said that his party will also implement the project quickly if the state government cooperates.

"I have held discussions with the Kelantan Menteri Besar, Datuk Ahmad Yakob and the Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

"The results of the discussion have been presented to His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V," he said while delivering the opening speech at the Malaysia Madani Open House at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium compound here on Friday.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi and Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob.

The water issue in this state is not something new; it has been going on for decades.

In other developments, Anwar further added that the 2023 Malaysia Madani Budget recorded the largest development allocation for the state of Kelantan, including 107 new projects to be implemented.
