MELAKA - Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB) has established the SAMB Intelligent Command Centre (SICC) and developed a dashboard system to improve service quality towards smart water management, which is more dynamic and innovative in meeting the increasing high expectations of users.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said SICC would monitor the collection and analysis of various operational data starting from raw water, the distribution of treated water supply across the state as well as consumer complaints.

"This monitoring is to allow SAMB to implement immediate action, short, medium and long-term planning to solve various operational problems involving water supply.

"It is to ensure that the supply of water to users is guaranteed and meets the guidelines set by the National Water Services Commission (SPAN) and the supply of treated water meets the standards set by the Ministry of Health," he said in a statement here today.

The SAMB chairman also said the dashboard system would facilitate the process of collecting and analysing data as well as strategic planning for the company's operations as a whole, as data can be received directly with more accurate reports and analyses.

He said the data for the use of the system included weather forecasts, raw water quality, dam and river levels, treated water production, treated water distribution, Non-Revenue Water (NRW) monitoring, levels of water distribution tanks, monitoring of user complaints and remedial actions.

"The development of this dashboard system is beneficial to users across the state and increases the operational efficiency of SAMB to tackle any problems involving the operation of water as warnings will be received earlier and more effective actions and planning can be implemented, among other things," he said.

He said improvements would be implemented from time to time to include more data related to the company's operations to facilitate more efficient and holistic decision-making. - BERNAMA
