SHAH ALAM - Pas Selangor does not rule out the possibility that there is a 'big name' candidate who is not from within the party being proposed to represent Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the upcoming state election.

Pas Selangor commissioner Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi said any possibilities remained if the candidate was able to bring victory to PN.

"Maybe there are one or two candidates who are not from Pas but they are close to us.

"From the screening at the Central (Pas) level, these people are eligible to represent PN in the Selangor state election," he said in an interview on FB Live 'Coffee Talk 4 Malaysia Kenapa #Change Selangor?' which went live on Selangor Pas Facebook on Thursday night.

He said Pas was ready to contest with candidate decided by the central committee, including the prominent figure.

"Our candidates are professionals from all aspects from a Syariah point of view whose background is religious education and from diversity," Yunus said.

He said all the candidates featured in Pas came from diverse groups be it new faces, familiar faces, youth and women.

"We will maintain the togetherness of these candidates, but in the end, our proposed candidates will be decided at the Central (Pas) level," he said.
