AMPANG - Loud motorcycle exhaust noises is believed to be the motive behind a fight involving two groups of men in Bukit Ampang last Monday.

Ampang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the police received a complaint at 10pm regarding a fight involving 13 men.

"Investigations found that the cause of the fight was dissatisfaction with a group that made loud noises with their motorcycle exhaust. Another group had reprimanded them and there was an argument and a fight between them.

"A total of three suspects suffered minor injuries and have received treatment at Ampang Hospital," he said in a statement on Thursday.

Mohamad Farouk said his party had arrested 13 men aged 15 to 26 years old at the grounds of the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 12.05pm, Tuesday.

"Among those arrested in Ampang was a high school student, a food delivery man, sales assistant and unemployed.

" All tested negative on preliminary urine screening, further checks found that three suspects aged 20 to 26 have a record of past drug and criminal offences," he said.

According to him, the suspect was remanded for four days from Wednesday to Saturday to assist with investigations

"The case is being investigated according to Section 148 of the Penal Code," he said.
