GEORGETOWN - The Penang police confirm receiving four reports lodged against Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor regarding his claim that the state belongs to Kedah.
Penang police chief Datuk Khaw Kok Chin said the case was being investigated by the Federal Police Classified Crime Investigation Unit.
"It has been confirmed that four police reports have been received regarding Sanusi's claim that Penang belongs to Kedah.
"The case is being investigated in accordance with Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act (AKMM) 1998," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
On May 29, Sanusi reportedly said that Kedah and Penang do not have a border because Penang was still Kedah's possession and he claimed that Kedah only has a border with Perak and Perlis.
In this regard, DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng urged all Malaysians especially Penang citizens to stand up and protest against Sanusi for his statement.
Guan Eng said that Sanusi's statement was clearly dangerous and could cause fear and repercussion among the people, especially Penangites.
He said that this was because the people of Penang in particular would feel that they could lose their state with Sanusi's wild and irresponsible acts which continue to question the sovereignty of Penang.
