KUALA LUMPUR - The Higher Education Ministry aims to prioritise Malay studies to instill greater discipline among the Malays.

Umno vice president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin stressed that the Malays study was important for all Malays in order to enhance discipline among the Malays in the spirit of nationalism.

"Malay studies are not only Malay literature, Talibun, and culture. However, education, technology, and the Malays survival are really important now in order to face challenges, competition, and global violence so that the Malay struggle becomes better organised.

"I assure and guarantee that all Umno representatives will lead the higher education camp and will attract as many Malay experts as possible to empower Malay studies," Khaled, who is also the Higher Education Minister, said during his winding-up speech at Dewan Merdeka at the World Trade Centre (WTC) today.

He further added that the study of the Malay nation's achievements and the crisis of the Malays will also be incorporated into the studies.
