Reckless motorcyclist survives collision after riding against traffic to dodge roadblock

SUNGAI BULOH - A motorcyclist sustained injuries after riding against traffic and colliding with a car while attempting to evade a roadblock in Subang Perdana on Saturday.

Sungai Buloh district police chief, Superintendent Shafa'aton Abu Bakar said that the incident occurred at 6:17pm when the individual's actions were motivated by expired road tax, motorcycle insurance, and a valid driving licence.

"The motorcyclist, riding a Yamaha 135LC, attempted a U-turn against the flow of traffic, resulting in a collision with a Proton Persona," Shafa'aton said in a statement on Monday.

The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries.

"Both vehicle owners have filed reports at the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters, and the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he added.

A 52-second video capturing the motorcyclist's actions had previously gone viral on social media.
