Ducati crash: Man who rides against traffic claims to have lost his way

AMPANG JAYA - A man who caused a fatal accident involving a Ducati rider Kilometre 22.2 of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Expressway (Suke) last Wednesday claims to have lost his way before riding against the traffic.
Ampang Jaya District Police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said that the man was a 41-year-old local citizen who hailed from Kajang and had made a report on the accident on Friday.
"The investigation found that the suspect was on his way from Ampang to return home, got lost and decided to enter the Suke highway flyover against the traffic until the accident occurred," he said in a statement on Saturday.
He said that the man, a restauranteur, also suffered injuries from falling off his motorcycle, which he claimed to have collided with the victim's motorcycle.
"The man then went home and only found out about the case after watching the news and updates on social media.
"The man sustained a fracture on his right shoulder, broken little finger, wound on his left shoulder and right leg as a result of the accident," he said.
Azam said the Yamaha motorcycle that the suspect was riding and several other items were seized for further investigation.
So far, police had recorded statements from six witnesses including the man involved.
Meanwhile, he said that both the suspect and the victim's motorcycles would be sent to Puspakom and the Chemical Department for further inspection," he said.
On Wednesday, a man died after being thrown off his high-powered motorcycle before falling from a bridge at Kilometer 22.2 of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Expressway (Suke).
The victim Ahmad Fadzil Omar Azaddin, 64, was riding a Ducati Panigale motorcycle and tried to avoid another bike that was going against the traffic.
The victim then hit the curb on the left side of the road before being thrown off his bike and fell off the bridge at a height of about 30 meters.
