SHAH ALAM - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has targeted 33 seats in the upcoming Selangor state election.

Bersatu Supreme Leadership Council member Mohd Yadzil Yaakub said that the party has already completed the division of seats and all the components have been discussed and finalised.

“We have merged all our machinery with Bersatu, Pas, and Gerakan to make sure that we can mobilise all our resources from the other six states where there will be state elections.

“For example, I am from Melaka but I will be helping out in Negeri Sembilan.

"The whole of Melaka will be helping out in Negeri Sembilan. We have divided everything by State Legislative Assembly and each will hold one," he told Sinar Daily recently.

Yadzil said that Bersatu is facing some challenges, as their accounts have been frozen and confiscated.

However, he said that the party will continue to fight and will use all the machinery that they have from the previous general elections.

“We will also be using the social media to attract the youth voters.

"In Selangor itself, there are 39 seats in Malay majority and it is difficult to say which states, so we have targeted around 33 seats to win in this state election at least to get the simple majority to get among the 39 seats," he added.

Yadzil said that Bersatu will continue to be a good opposition in the federal government and will work to bring out all the people in need.

He said that the party will also be against corruption and will make sure that the country is running well.

“Even though some people say we want to topple the government, which is now because we as an Opposition do what we need to do,” he said.
