ULU KELANG - Basic principles and policies by Perikatan Nasional (PN) will enhance the current economic situation, especially in Selangor because it is a hub of trade and industry in Malaysia.

Selangor PN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said this after attending the Piala Azmin Ali 2023 football match at the BB Sports Park in Taman Melawati yesterday.

"PN wants to give offers to the rakyat, especially in Selangor because the state is a hub of trade and industry.

"We also managed to inject an economic stimulus package in difficult times, and we believe that with the basic principles and policies of PN, we can deal with the current economic problems," he explained.

Azmin added that his party will promise job opportunities to Malaysian youths.

Asked about the opposition’s strategy, he said discussions on the matter will not be held openly.

"Strategy is strategy, and we will not discuss it openly. However, I need to stress that PN has been working hard on the ground, not just because of the upcoming state elections, but because we care about the welfare of the rakyat," he said.

He said PN has been organising numerous programmes in six states involved in the elections which were Penang, Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan in preparation for the upcoming state elections which will be held on Aug 12.

Azmin further highlighted that PN president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has contributed to many things during his administration as Prime Minister during the pandemic.

"Today's situation shows that the country's economy is very poor, the ringgit is collapsing, job opportunities are limited, and investment is not recording good growth.

"PN's record has proven that during the administration of Muhyiddin Yassin, even though he served during the pandemic, we managed to attract more than RM309 billion worth of investments into the country," he said.
