Muda reveals six more candidates for state elections

SHAH ALAM - Muda has revealed the second lineup of six candidates for the upcoming 2023 state elections, scheduled to be held on August 12.

Its election director, Loqman Long, who is also a Muda co-founder, will be contesting in the Bandar (N14) in Terengganu.

"I will be a Muda candidate for Bandar seat in Terengganu.

"There is no other seat and area that I dream of but the country where I was born, grew up, and gained knowledge," said Luqman on his Twitter page.

Selangor Muda treasurer, Afriena Shaqira Sariff will be contesting in Sungai Kandis, Selangor.

"First of all, I would like to thank the leadership of the Muda party for trusting me to lead and fight for the voice of the people through my candidature as a candidate in Sungai Kandis this time.

"With the spirit of struggle and hope that never fades, I promise to continue to fight for the aspirations of the people and create the changes we dream of as Malaysians," Afriena said in Muda’s Twitter account.

Another candidate, Dr Siva, the Muda Selangor Chairman will be contesting for Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor.

Another candidate, Dobby Chew will be contesting in Seri Setia in Selangor. He is the Muda central executive committee member and human rights bureau head.

The next candidate, Priyankaa Loh. She is the Penang youth education bureau and Bagan parliament speaker and will be contesting the Pantai Jerejak seat in Penang.

On July 13, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman had said he was confident that the party's candidates should be given the mandate by voters and serve as effective check and balance to the government.

"Muda hopes that the people will give our candidates a chance as they come from various professional backgrounds and have a good record of service politics.

"They have all gone through a stringent vetting process to be named as candidates for Muda in the election," he added.

Four days ago, Muda announced the first batch of candidates, They were Muda secretary-general Amir Hadi (Seri Serdang), Syaidiyah Izzati Nur Razak Maideen (Batu Tiga), R Thanusha (Sentosa) and Melanie Ting (Bukit Antarabangsa).
