PORT DICKSON - Barisan Nasional candidate for the Bagan Pinang state seat, Mohd Najib Mohd Isa, refutes claims of using his father's popularity to gain votes during the state election campaign. Despite acknowledging his father's name being attached to him from birth, he stresses the importance of earning voter confidence through active campaigning.

Attending a tuju takraw match at Jalan Haji Jaafar, Mohd Najib asserts that relying solely on his father's name would not be beneficial and may even cause problems.

Instead, he believes in the necessity of introducing himself to the voters and addressing their concerns.

"This opportunity was used to gather information on the problems faced by the community in the contested area," he explained.

As a first-time candidate, Mohd Najib conducted friendly polls to meet voters and establish a personal connection with them.

He recognises the significance of representing the party and assures that he will take care of his father's status and popularity to the best of his abilities.

Despite people remembering his father's services during the friendly survey, Mohd Najib stresses the importance of being the candidate contesting and representing the party.

In the upcoming state election, Mohd Najib will go head-to-head with the Perikatan Nasional candidate, Abdul Fatah Zakaria.
