SHAH ALAM - It is crucial to understand the unique dynamics of each locality and tailor the party's approach to reach out and connect with the diverse urban population.

To achieve this, Selangor Pas secretary Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir, popularly known as Roslan SMS, said it is important to present a comprehensive platform for all urban issues, engage with the grassroots, learn from emerging players, use inclusive communication, and emphasise unity and progress for all Malaysians.

"One crucial factor to capitalise on is the division in Malay votes observed in the previous election, which proved to be beneficial for Perikatan Nasional (PN).

"To secure success, it is imperative to delve deeper into the reasons behind this split and use the insights to craft a compelling narrative that resonates with the Malay community.

"By addressing their specific concerns and aspirations, we can bridge gaps, foster unity, and garner strong support within this essential demographic," Roslan said.

Nonetheless, winning urban seats requires more than capitalising on split votes alone, he said, adding that a comprehensive platform is needed and that addressing the aspirations of all urban dwellers is vital.

This entails a focus on critical issues like affordable housing, quality healthcare, accessible education, job creation, and sustainable development.

By presenting a holistic and inclusive agenda, Roslan added that the party can garner widespread support and secure victory in urban areas as well.

Meanwhile, Selayang Division Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Chief Datuk Azman Yaakob said that to secure victory in urban areas, the party must adopt a multi-pronged approach by engaging voters at the grassroots level, which is crucial, along with building strong relationships with local leaders and influential figures.

"We must recognise the impact of emerging political entities like Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) and the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) and learn from their appeal to certain segments of the urban population.

"An inclusive and transparent communication strategy is paramount, using various channels to actively listen to urban residents' concerns," Azman said.

Hence, Azman said that promoting a unifying vision of progress for all Malaysians will be vital in breaking down barriers and fostering a sense of belonging among the urban electorate.
