Pathological techniques helped to identify plane crash victims

KLANG - All the victims of the plane crash in Elmina, Section U16 Shah Alam, have been identified through various pathological techniques.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the three techniques were fingerprint matching, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) testing, and dental records.

"All 10 victims have been identified; one of the victims' bodies was handed over to the next of kin yesterday (Saturday), while the other nine will be handed over to their respective families today," he said at a press conference at the Tuanku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital Forensic Department (HTAR). here, on Sunday Hussien said that his party had recorded the statements of several vehicle dashboard camera owners to help the investigation related to the plane crash.

"The investigation is still ongoing; we will call more individuals to help with the investigation," he said.

Earlier, the first body of the plane crash victim was claimed by family members at 9.30am on Saturday. A total of 10 individuals were confirmed dead, namely two flight crew, six passengers, and two civilians.

The victims were identified as pilots Shahrul Kamal Roslan and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim.

The six passengers are Kharil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Datuk Seri Johari Harun, Muhammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki, and Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali.

The two civilians who were tragically killed were an e-hailing vehicle driver, Sharipuddin Shaari, and a motorcyclist, Muhamad Hafiz Muhammad Salleh.
