SHAH ALAM - Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin slams DAP over its response to the discharge granted to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi by labelling the party a 'running dog and enablers to abuse of power'.

In an Instagram post, Khairy posted a news portal report of DAP's secretary-general Anthony Loke statement and said the party had no more red lines.

"DAP has no more red lines. Reduced to what they used to accuse MCA of being.

"A running dog and enabler of abuse of power but they know it doesn't matter, 95 per cent of Chinese voters will continue to support them (DAP)," he said.

Last night an english portal reported Loke urging the Attorney-General Idrus Harun to explain the government's move to drop 47 corruption charges against Zahid.

Loke said Idrus should publicly explain the factors that led the decision to to acquit Zahid who is also the Umno President.

However on a post on his personal Facebook page today, Loke had said that the prosecution's application for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) for Zahid was made at the discretion of the attorney general but was granted by the court

He said DAP respected the court process and ruling but reiterated that on the count of interests of justice and accountability, the AG should give an open explanation regarding the factors which motivated him to make the application.

“This clarification is important to ensure that the confidence of the public and the international community in the country's legal system is always preserved,” he said in the post.

Yesterday, the High Court granted Zahid the DNAA on all his 47 charges of corruption, criminal breach of trust and money laundering.

Judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah allowed the DNAA application by deputy public prosecutor Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, after the prosecution said it wanted to halt the trial to investigate the case in a more comprehensive manner.
