SHAH ALAM - The performance by the Malaysian Prisons Department at the Karnival Pendidikan Sinar Bestari leaves a lasting impression on attendees.

The carnival organised by Karangkraf showcases many performances which educate the public.

Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) personnel Nazaleeza Hassan said she witnessed numerous events which featured performances directly from prisons.

“This is because prison performances are typically exclusive and can be pretty intimidating to hear about.

“The demonstration performance today opened our eyes to the fact that prison staff not only manage inmates but also face various mental and physical challenges.

“It also serves as a reminder not to make mistakes,” Nazaleeza told Sinar Daily.

Furthermore, she said the performers were excellent because they provided an opportunity for students to gain insights.

Meanwhile, Bank Rakyat Marketing Executive Hidayah Samah emphasised that it was crucial to recognise that the event was not merely a display of prison-related activities but a powerful platform for enlightenment.

“It goes beyond the initial intimidation that often surrounds discussions about prisons.

“Instead, it offers an enlightening glimpse into the multifaceted challenges prison personnel face, both in terms of mental and physical demands.

“Hence, it served as a stark reminder to steer clear of wrongful paths,” she said.

She added that the performers did a commendable job in their roles with efforts to enlighten students and provide valuable insights to those working within the correctional system, further emphasising the importance of awareness and education in society.

“This enlightening experience has the potential to inspire positive change and encourage individuals to make more informed choices in life.”

Commenting further, Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) Finance Division executive Siti Faizah said that the presentation delivered by the Malaysian Prison Department was truly outstanding.

“It showcased their dedication and expertise and served as a valuable means to educate and enlighten the public.

“Witnessing this event, which Karangkraf impeccably organised, fills me with immense pride, and I earnestly hope that this programme will become a recurring fixture in the future.

“This performance stands out for its ability to generate awareness, particularly among the youth,” Siti said.

She said that such performance played a pivotal role in advising students against wrongdoing or criminal activities, underscoring the gravity of such actions.

“The message is clear: once you find yourself within the confines of a prison, the consequences can be profoundly detrimental to your image and reputation,” she said.
