KUALA LUMPUR - Kuala Lumpur police have received six reports on the organisation of the 'Save Malaysia Movement' set to take place in front of a shopping centre here on Saturday.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, said that they have initiated investigations into the organisers of this gathering.

"We have opened investigation papers under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.

So far, we have summoned Pasir Mas Member of Parliament Ahmad Fadhli Shaari and Gombak Setia State Assemblyman Hilman Idham to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters (IPD) tomorrow (Wednesday) to record statements regarding the organisation of this gathering.

"This follows reports that have been filed, as the police have not yet received any notification regarding the upcoming gathering," he said when contacted on Tuesday.

Allaudeen emphasised that it is important for the police to be informed about the plans for the gathering well in advance to ensure public safety and peace.

According to the law and constitution, organisers of gatherings must provide prior notification to the police and obtain permission from the owner of the gathering venue.

In this case, organisers must seek permission from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) or the owner of the location specified in the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
