Uda Carnival 2023 to tour four states, targets 100,000 visitors
JOHOR BAHRU - The Uda Carnival 2023 will be held in four states with Angsana Johor Bahru Mall here as the first location of the programme which began yesterday until tomorrow.
Uda Holdings Berhad (Uda) president and chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Salem Kailany said the three other locations for the carnival are Tasik Gelugor Commercial Centre, Penang on Oct 27 to 29, Lintasan Deasoka, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Nov 24 to 25) and Angsana Ipoh Mall, Perak (Dec 8 to 10).
He said about 100,000 visitors are targeted to throng the carnival, and unlike previous fairs, this year’s carnival is combining the Ushaniaga Entrepreneur Programme and the Uda Ria Real Estate Campaign.
"The goal of organising this carnival is also a two-pronged approach to stimulate local entrepreneurial and socioeconomic activities, while promoting Uda's latest range of real estate product throughout the country," he said when speaking at the opening ceremony of Uda Carnival 2023 at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall here today..
Also present were Johor Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor and State Health and Unity Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon.
Mohd Salem said the Ushaniaga Entrepreneur Programme offers incentives to entrepreneurs such as sales of stalls, agency exhibitions, 'Biz Clinic' guidance and consultation classes as well as business matching, dialogue sessions and entrepreneurial talks by the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (Kuskop).
He said the carnival is also promoting Uda real estate products nationwide including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Pahang and the latest project in Sarawak.
Customers who buy properties through the Uda Ria Property Campaign, he also said, have the opportunity to win various lucrative prizes worth RM200,000, in the form of holiday packages, Touch n Go cards, fuel vouchers, accommodation at Uda chain hotels, AnCasa Hotels & Resorts as well as the two top prizes of Perodua Ativa subject to the terms and conditions.
According to him, Uda which is an agency under Kuskop is also targeting the involvement of 500 entrepreneurs in the carnival in addition to recording a sales value of RM10 million, given that last year, the carnival grossed RM11.71 million with the participation of 656 entrepreneurs.
"We are giving space to entrepreneurs and collaboration partners to market a wider range of products and services. It is also a platform to track, approach, guide and transform potential and competitive entrepreneurs, in the domestic and international markets," he said.
Uda also said that it will launch a new Uda Heights property project here next month, which is designed to be modern, spacious and comfortable for the whole family, including two-storey bungalow houses with an area of 80' x 90' and two-storey semi-detached houses with five bedrooms..
"Uda will also launch a two-storey terrace property project as well as two and three-storey office shophouses in Bandar Uda Utama here next year which will further boost the property development industry in Johor.
"The variety of quality of Uda real estate products will also provide better life choices to the community, especially the communities in the Uda development region in Johor," he said.
