SHAH ALAM – The Central Pas Ulama council has called on 'Ulama Muda' (young Islamic scholars) to actively utilise social media platforms to spread the message of Islam.

This was stressed by Central Pas Ulama Council chief Datuk Ahmad Yahaya in his keynote speech at the 62nd Pas Ulama general meeting held at the Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam today.

“Digital platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and the X app, are expansive avenues for da'wah, or Islamic propagation,” he said.

He further stressed that the world of social media represents a vast landscape for the engagement of young ulama, allowing them to reach a broader audience and effectively convey the teachings of Islam.

“These platforms have become central to the lives of the younger generation, and leveraging them is crucial for effective communication and religious education,” he said.

The council also acknowledged the role of young Muslims in recent elections and urged the young ulama to use this as an opportunity to guide them towards a more profound understanding and practice of Islam.

“However, I want to note that the younger generation's primary source of information and interaction often lies within the digital realm, hence necessitating a strong online presence for Islamic scholars,” he added.

He added that effective communication strategies that are relatable and easily comprehensible to young people are essential to ensure that the message of Islam is accepted and integrated into their daily lives.
