KUALA LUMPUR - Traffic flow on several roads in the capital slowed down following a flash flood and stagnant water this evening.

In a Facebook post, the Federal Territory information department shared several footage of roads being flooded, yet still passable by vehicles.

It was reported that 12 locations were affected following heavy rain at around 5pm.

"Among the locations involved are Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Pahang, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Melaka, Jalan Parlimen and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim.

"Also affected are Jalan Cheras, Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Bangsar and Jalan Syed Putra," it wrote.

Apart from the haze problem, there were heavy rains in the Klang Valley for the past couple of weeks in the evening.

Yesterday, it was reported that several flash floods including at the National Zoo had caused a capybara to escape, but it was rescued within half an hour.

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Kamarulzaman Mat Salleh had previously ordered sanitary work to be enhanced after finding that the scupper drain was blocked with dry leaves and rubbish.
