KOTA KINABALU - The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has issued a clarion call to the youth, urging them to lead the charge in eradicating this societal scourge.

Sabah MACC Director Datuk Karunanithy Y Subbiah said that the younger generation is the country's future, and their unity in this agenda is essential to make Malaysia free from corruption.

He stressed the importance of their commitment to integrity during the International Anti-Corruption Day (HARA) 2023 celebrations, held in collaboration with INTI College Sabah (ICS) and the Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and Universities (MAPCU) at the ICS Auditorium.

"Therefore, it is essential to remember that the country needs a young generation with high integrity to build a corruption-free nation.

"Instill in yourselves the principle of not taking or giving bribes, together we oppose corruption," he said.

Karunanithy also implored the youth to safeguard their dignity and remain vigilant against corruption's lure.

"As you step into your professional lives, carry the honor of your name, your institution, your state, and our nation with you," he said.

This year’s HARA celebration, themed "Uniting The World Against Corruption," aimed to galvanise international students from public and private universities nationwide.
