SHAH ALAM - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has proclaimed that he has received information about a coordinated effort to undermine the party and the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition by enticing and intimidating its MPs.

He firmly declared that Bersatu will not succumb to such pressures and that stricter measures will be implemented in response to two additional party members pledging their support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Muhyiddin described this action as a deviation from the party's stance, a severe breach of discipline and a betrayal of the people's mandate, who elected them based on their faith in PN's principles.

"The Bersatu Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) will convene an emergency meeting tonight to discuss these recent developments.

"I urge Bersatu members to maintain composure and unwavering support for the party's principles while the party's top leadership addresses the situation," he said in a statement today.

On Wednesday, Gua Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim and Jeli MP Zahari Kechik openly expressed their backing for Anwar's leadership but reaffirmed their loyalty and continued membership in Bersatu.

Previously, Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid initiated this move on Oct 12, followed by Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman two weeks later.

These four Bersatu MPs took this action after carefully considering their constituents' persistent pleas and stressing the pressing need to address the escalating living cost crisis that is plaguing their respective constituencies.
