Seven-month-old baby charred to death, parents sustain injuries in car accident

KOTA BHARU - A seven-month-old baby girl died after the vehicle she was travelling in with her parents hit a lamp post and burst into flames on Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai, here, early this morning.
The body of Wan Sabeena Arisha Wan Shahrizat was found charred near the Honda Jazz car.
The Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received a distress call at 4.04am about the incident which took place in front of a bank building in Kuala Krai.
Personnel from the Kuala Krai and Sungai Durian fire stations were immediately rushed to the scene.
Operations Officer PBK II Mohd Fadzil Musa said the accident involved a Honda Jazz car that had skidded and hit a lamp post before it went up in flames.
"A man identified as Wan Shahrizat Azwan Wan Shahril, 28, was seriously injured due to burns all over his body, while his wife, Nur Hasidah Razmi, 25, was slightly injured.
"Their seven-month-old daughter was found lying near the car," he said in a statement on Facebook, today.
The baby was then handed over to the police for further action and the injured victims were sent to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Kuala Krai district police chief Superintendent Suzaimi Mohamad confirmed receiving a report related to the incident and that the case was being investigated.
