POKOK SENA - Pokok Sena Umno Youth chief Mohd Farhan Ahmadhas called for respectful dialogue regarding Umno leadership and the stability of the Unity Government.

He responded to Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim's recent remarks about Umno leadership and potential restructuring.

Farhan stressed the democratic process that led to Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's election as Umno President.

"Hassan should respect the Umno constitution. Questioning this legitimacy could sow discord within the party and the Unity Government.

"Zahid is the democratically elected president of Umno, and he has the mandate and support of the majority of party members.

"He has demonstrated strong leadership and vision in leading Umno through challenging times, defending the rights and interests of the Malay community," he said in a statement today.

While acknowledging concerns about Malay support for Umno and the coalition, Farhan stressed that Umno doesn't base leadership decisions on the wishes of a few.

He highlighted the party's long history of democratic principles, loyalty, and national service.

He made these remarks in response to Hassan's reported call for Umno to undergo a leadership restructuring to secure Malay votes for the Barisan Nasional-Pakatan Harapan (BN-PH) coalition.

Instead of attacking Umno leadership, Farhan proposed that Hassan consider holding underperforming Pakatan Harapan ministers accountable, particularly those less popular amongst Malays.

He questioned other party leaders' contributions and PH ministers' effectiveness in garnering Malay support.

"What roles have the Presidents of other parties fulfilled? Have they effectively secured numerous seats for the Unity Government?"

"To what extent have PH Ministers been effective in gaining the support of the Malays or voters for the current government's confidence," he added.

He urged seasoned politician like Hassan to express concerns constructively, suggesting a letter to the Prime Minister promoting collaboration within the diverse Unity Government.
