Mara, Rasuah Busters partner for anti-corruption campaign in Perak
Mara vows to crackdown on isolated corruption cases.

IPOH - Corruption cases involving Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) officers and staff are under control, particularly those involving financing.
Mara Integrity Unit Deputy Head Ahmad Sofi Abdullah said that these cases are isolated and do not involve prosecution or charges.
He highlighted Mara's ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) certification, which has been received since February, demonstrating its commitment to providing integrity-based services.
"This serves as our internal mechanism to control and prevent any form of corruption.
"For example, if it involves financing, we have a control system to approve funds to those eligible or otherwise," he said.
He spoke at the second series of the Jelajah Antirasuah Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) event at the Perak Mara Office on Friday.
Also present were Mara Perak Deputy Director (Development) Maizatul Akmal Mohd, and Yayasan Sinar Untuk Malaysia's (#RasuahBusters) Chief Executive Officer Nurhayati Nordin.
The joint programme between Mara and Rasuah Busters runs from 10 to 14 June, involving four MRSMs in Pasir Salak, Parit, Taiping, and Sultan Azlan Shah.
The final day included a briefing and explanation session with 70 Perak Mara officers and staff.
Ahmad Sofi stressed that good governance standards are practised at all levels of Mara departments and agencies, including top management. "Mara currently has nearly 11,400 staff nationwide, and we are highly committed to ensuring that integrity issues are understood at all levels," he said.
On MRSM programme, he noted that awareness about corruption and integrity issues are increasingly well-received by students.
He added that at the higher education level, Mara implemented similar initiatives under the anti-corruption student camp programme involving Kolej Profesional Mara, Kolej Mara, and Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara.
"These students will be professionals in their respective fields within the community.
"Therefore, it is important to raise early awareness about the importance of integrity and avoiding corruption," he added.
Meanwhile, Maizatul Akmal praised Rasuah Busters' efforts as a good approach to remind the workforce continually.
"Integrity is not static but must be constantly reinforced to remain embedded in our hearts. Otherwise, over time, it will be treated casually," he said.
