Syed Saddiq "hopeful" as appeal continues, seeks public support
Expressing confidence in his defence team, Syed Saddiq remained hopeful about the case’s outcome.

PUTRAJAYA – Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has called for prayers that justice be upheld as the appeal proceedings concerning the Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda (Armada) funds entered their second day on Thursday.
Expressing confidence in his defence team, Syed Saddiq remained hopeful about the case’s outcome.

"I place my full trust in Allah and remain optimistic about the process.
"I also believe in the strength of the evidence and arguments presented, which I trust the honourable judges will consider fairly," he said.
He made these remarks during a press conference at the lobby of the Putrajaya Court Complex.
In the meantime, he urged the public to continue supporting him throughout the legal proceedings.
"I ask my friends and everyone here to stand for the truth and ensure justice prevails.
"That is my hope. Thank you, and InshaAllah, we will meet again after this case concludes," he added.
Earlier, Syed Saddiq arrived at the Court of Appeal, appearing in good spirits as the hearing continued for a second day.
The former Muda president arrived at around 10.20am, accompanied by family members.
Celebrity Bella Astillah was also present to show her support, along with Muda acting president and Merlimau Assemblywoman Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz, who stood in solidarity with the party’s former leader.
Syed Saddiq was previously sentenced to seven years in prison, two strokes of the cane and a RM10 million fine for four offences related to the Armada funds.
On Wednesday, the Court of Appeal confirmed that no decision would be made yet regarding his appeal to overturn his conviction and sentence.
The three-judge panel made the announcement when proceedings commenced at 12.15pm.
Syed Saddiq faces four charges, including criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of funds and money laundering linked to the Armada funds.
A final decision will be made following the two-day appeal hearing at the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya.
If the court upholds the conviction, he will still have the option to appeal to the Federal Court.
However, if the judges decide the High Court’s ruling cannot stand, he will be acquitted immediately.
