Jaulah Iftar Programme: Coca-Cola Malaysia and Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Department distribute bubur lambuk for Ramadan
The programme today brought together both teams to prepare and share the traditional dish.

SHAH ALAM – Coca-Cola Malaysia, in collaboration with the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Department carried out a special Ramadan mission to distribute bubur lambuk to the community and firefighters, earlier today.
The Jaulah Iftar programme today brought together both teams to prepare and share the traditional dish, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation for those who serve the public.
As part of the initiative, Coca-Cola Malaysia contributed 800 bottles of beverages, including Fanta and Fuze Tea, and donated RM2,000 to the fire department’s community fund.
Coca-Cola Malaysia Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability senior manager, Wan Ahmad Syazwan Mohamed said this marks the company’s first collaboration with the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Department and Sinar Harian for a Ramadan iftar programme.

The initiative aligns with Coca-Cola Malaysia’s broader Ramadan theme, "Rezeki Dikongsi, Berkah Diperolehi" (Shared Blessings, Earn Rewards).
He highlighted the fire department’s crucial role in society, acknowledging their unwavering dedication, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This evening, alongside a few Coca-Cola Malaysia team members, we will personally distribute bubur lambuk to the local community and fire department personnel.
“Additionally, we are contributing 800 bottles of Coca-Cola Malaysia products, including Fanta, Fuze Tea, and mineral water—ideal for breaking fast.
“This collaboration reflects our mission of giving back to the community. What we receive holds more meaning when shared, and that is the spirit of our Ramadan programme," he said when met here at Shah Alam Fire and Rescue station, Seksyen 15.

Beyond today’s event, Coca-Cola Malaysia has lined up several other Ramadan initiatives, including food pack distributions at six mosques in the Klang Valley, benefiting over 3,000 congregants during iftar (breaking fast) and Moreh (post-Taraweeh refreshments).
The company also continues its annual community mosque initiative in Bandar Enstek, providing support for both iftar and upcoming Raya preparations.
In the meantime, Shah Alam Fire & Rescue Station chief, Ahmad Nazmi Halil, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration.
“This is a rare and special partnership. Usually, we are invited to events elsewhere, but today, we are hosting the initiative at our surau.
“Bubur lambuk is an ideal dish to start breaking fast with as it’s light on the stomach after a full day of fasting,” he said when met here too.

He shared that the fire department frequently receives appreciation from various agencies during Ramadan, with donations of packed meals and bubur lambuk.
However, this marked their first collaboration with Coca-Cola Malaysia.
“We started preparations as early as 8.30am, cooking over 600 servings to ensure we could share with the surrounding communities. It has been a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our bonds and engage in charitable giving, which is highly encouraged during Ramadan,” he added.

Nazmi expressed hope for future partnerships, saying they would gladly participate again as the programme has strengthened their relationships and fostered collaboration.
Meanwhile, Surau At-Taqwa chairman, Mohd Mahzan Abdul Razab, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, describing it as a meaningful initiative that strengthens community bonds.
“We sincerely thank the Sinar team and Coca-Cola Malaysia for this meaningful collaboration.
“We have always welcomed community-based activities, and we deeply appreciate their efforts in making this Bubur Lambuk programme a success,” he said.
He pointed out that preparations for the event began as early as the previous day, with community members coming together to prepare ingredients, such as peeling onions, for the cooking process.
Instead of relying on just a few individuals, he shared that around 20 to 30 people participated, ensuring a smooth preparation.
Mahzan also expressed gratitude for Coca-Cola Malaysia’s contributions, which will support the surau’s ongoing programmes, including daily prayers, tahlil sessions on Thursday nights, and religious talks by invited speakers.
He added that these contributions will benefit the entire community, further strengthening their connection through shared activities.

The distributions will reach both the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Department community and the wider Shah Alam residents, including motorists passing through Seksyen 15.
More than just offering warm meals, this initiative embodies the true spirit of Ramadan—compassion, generosity, and a deep sense of community. It’s a reminder that small acts of kindness can bring people together in meaningful ways.
Through collaborations like these, Coca-Cola Malaysia, Sinar Harian, and the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Department are committed to strengthening community bonds, ensuring that the blessings of Ramadan are shared with all.
