KUALA LUMPUR — The vibrant sounds of Eastern Indonesia are set to take centre stage in Kuala Lumpur this April as Malam FYP Timur, a concert celebrating the rising influence of Eastern Indonesian music, makes its debut at Zepp Kuala Lumpur.

Scheduled for April 24 at 8.30pm, the concert marks the first event of its kind in Malaysia, spotlighting a music movement that has gained massive traction among younger audiences through social media and digital streaming platforms.

Organised by Gaga Entertainment, Malam FYP Timur promises a high-energy night that blends cross-cultural music with digital-era entertainment, reflecting how Eastern Indonesian sounds have evolved from viral trends into a mainstream cultural force.

The concert will feature three prominent Indonesian acts known for dominating streaming charts and social media feeds — Silet Open Up, Faris Adam and Ecko Show.

Leading the line-up is Silet Open Up, widely regarded as a key figure in the Eastern Indonesian music movement. Their hit track Tabola Bale has amassed over 475 million streams on Spotify and 350 million views on YouTube, cementing their status as a digital-era sensation.

Also taking the stage is Faris Adam, a singer-songwriter from Maluku who rose to fame with Stecu Stecu, a track that has recorded more than 150 million Spotify streams and 184 million YouTube views.

Rounding out the line-up is Ecko Show, one of Indonesia’s most recognisable hip-hop artists. Known for his sharp lyrics and relatable storytelling, Ecko Show boasts over 250 million Spotify streams and 600 million YouTube views across his catalogue.

Inspired by the concept of the social media “For You Page” (FYP), Malam FYP Timur aims to deliver an interactive concert experience that mirrors the fast-paced, discovery-driven nature of digital platforms. Beyond entertainment, the event also seeks to strengthen cultural ties between Malaysia and Indonesia, particularly among Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
