SHAH ALAM - Muar MP Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman is actively fundraising for his constituency, taking on roles as a model, actor and live host to support Muar and Johor flood victims.

In a recent social media post, Syed Saddiq announced he donated an additional RM50,000, earned from his non-political work, to Muar and Johor flood victims.

"Just a quick update, I donated another RM50,000. This came from modelling for a local clothing brand and more recently, from working as a live host salesman for a footwear brand and acting in a beauty commercial.

"Every cent earned went directly to Muar and Johor," he said.

He detailed his earnings: RM20,000 from live hosting, with half used for essential supplies like diapers and electronics, and the rest as cash donations to NGOs aiding flood victims.

"The RM30,000 from the beauty commercial covered staff salaries and office expenses for the Muar Parliamentary Service Centre.

"For over 400 days, Muar lacked the promised Parliamentary Service. I had to personally manage staff salaries and all forms of assistance. Thanks to your support, my assistance mission continues," he added.

Syed Saddiq also shared his experiences, acknowledging the challenges of these roles.

"Beyond 'fastabiqul khairat' (competing in goodness), I gained valuable experience.

"Live hosting requires marketing skills, good intonation and engaging viewers for two hours. It's not easy," he added.

He humorously addressed his acting experience, particularly the choreography.

"Acting was another humbling experience. I'm terrible at dancing. I'm better suited for Parliament than the dance floor," he quipped.

Despite the challenges, Syed Saddiq expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve Muar.

"I enjoy working and learning new skills. To be a good leader, I must continue to expand my abilities. Sincerely, Syed Saddiq, serving Muar," he said.
