'Just post': Batrisyia Razak encourages younger Gen Z to embrace being seen, create content
"In a world where people want to be mysterious and keep to themselves, be cringe and open, and in a world where people are just absorbing content, be the one to create the content," she said.

SHAH ALAM - At a time when the younger wave of Gen Z are hiding behind private accounts and blank profile pictures, content creator and model Batrisyia Razak is championing the idea of showing up online, encouraging others to post freely and embrace being seen.
In a video on her Instagram @bae.trisyia that struck a chord with young people on social media, the documentary film graduate used her candid content to encourage today’s youth to embrace the discomfort of expression and confidently take up space online.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm a Gen Z too, but I'm the older Gen Z. I have cousins who are the younger Gen Z and Gen Alpha and they no longer want to post on their Instagram.
"They keep their accounts private, with no profile picture and if you follow them (on Instagram), you’ll only see two highlight bubbles. Inside the bubble there will be dark, aesthetic and blurry photos accompanied by a cool song but still, not a single photo of themselves.
"Every other younger Gen Z and Gen Alpha that I’ve met are like this too," she said in the video.

Curious to understand, she said she asked the younger people why they do not post on social media.
Their answers, she said were almost all the same: "Posting is cringe. I don’t want to be perceived."
While she understood and respected the choice to stay private, she believed that if the trend continued, the culture of posting will eventually fade away with the older generation of Gen Z.
"I understand and respect that, but then there would be no posting culture. It will die with the Gen Zs, the older ones," she said.
She also acknowledged the fear of being judged online, especially by peers who might poke fun, but believed that self-expression should not be something to hide from.
Speaking to young people who want to post but are holding back, Batrisyia’s message was clear: "Just post. The world will keep spinning, no one is thinking about you that much."
"For the young people who really have the urge to post but they are scared about what people think like their friends making fun of them, just post.
"In a world where people want to be mysterious and keep to themselves, be cringe and open, and in a world where people are just absorbing content, be the one to create the content," she said.
