AI can’t replace human touch in designs - Graphic designers
Although the instructions fed into the system were clear and detailed, errors in the output were still likely to occur.

SHAH ALAM - Final output and quality checks for graphic production, especially patriotic visual materials, must be carried out by humans, without involving or relying on generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Freelance graphic designer Mohd Afizi Mat Seman, 33, stressed that while AI can serve as a basic reference in graphic production, complete dependence on it was not advisable.
"Nowadays, many people use AI to edit images or videos, but if we really look closely, there will definitely be flaws and shortcomings, such as imperfect body parts or mismatched colours.
"This shows that AI is still unable to produce truly flawless images. I agree that the government should set guidelines for the use of AI in patriotic materials.
"It is important to prevent misuse of the system and at the same time, serve as a guide for graphic designers," he told Sinar.
Afizi said reviewing graphic work after its completion was crucial, especially when AI was involved, noting that the system's accuracy in generating images or videos was still not perfect, even when detailed instructions were provided.
"In my experience, it is rare for AI to deliver 100 per cent of what we request. There are always defects.
"That is why review is very important, particularly when dealing with sensitive matters such as the national flag, as it involves patriotism," he said.
Meanwhile, managing director of photography and videography services company Kun Studio, Amirulfikri Azman, 33, said the display of information and messages in graphic design must be managed and finalised by humans, not AI systems.
He said although the instructions fed into the system were clear and detailed, errors in the output were still likely to occur.
"When the material is to be used officially, we must still conduct editing and final checks manually.
"I believe it is indeed appropriate for the government to establish specific guidelines for the use of AI in producing patriotic materials.
"It is crucial because we cannot be careless, especially regarding matters involving the national flag and national symbols," he said.
