4WD vehicle plunges into Sarawak river, man found drowned
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the body of the 62-year-old local man was found by divers from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department still in the vehicle at 10 am today.

KUCHING - A man was found drowned after his four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle plunged into the Sarawak River near the Tun Salahuddin Bridge here, last night.
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the body of the 62-year-old local man was found by divers from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department still in the vehicle at 10 am today.
"The case is still under investigation, and so far, the police have not found any criminal elements. Members of the public with information should come forward to assist the police investigation, The public is also advised not to make any speculations about this case,” he told reporters when met at the scene of the incident today.
Earlier, the Operations Centre (PGO) of the Sarawak Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement, said that a four-wheel drive vehicle was reported to have fallen into the Sarawak River near the bridge last night.
According to witnesses, the vehicle, which was parked under the bridge, had moved and then plunged into the river. - BERNAMA
