KUALA LUMPUR - Many Muslims often say they are too busy to read the Quran, but in reality, when you prioritise it, Allah SWT grants you even more time in return.

Famous Zimbabwean Islamic scholar Mufti Menk shared insight into the divine impact of the Quran on our daily lives saying that this was one of the its quite miracles.

He said reading the Quran does not consume your day, it enriches and blesses it.

He highlighted the Quran’s numerous miracles, including its profound influence on one’s perception of time.

"Many people say they do not read the Quran because they do not have time. But that (Quran) is the words of Allah, the Owner of time.

"When you make an effort to read even a small portion of the Quran despite your busy schedule, Allah places barakah (blessing) in your time.

"You will find that you actually have more time than before. Drop whatever you are doing for a moment and dedicate that time to the Quran, especially early in the morning before your day begins.

"If you are already late, how late can a verse of the Quran delay you?," he said.

He said this during a faith conference organised by Faith Events entitled "Serene Soul: When Desires Meet Divine Orders" held at the Bank Rakyat Twin Towers, here, on May 17.

Menk described one of the Quran’s miracles as its gentle way of drawing you closer; beginning with just one verse today, then two tomorrow and three the next day, until eventually, you find yourself reading a whole chapter every day.

He recited a hadith which stated "Whoever comes to Me (Allah) walking, I come to him rushing. Whoever comes to Me with a handspan, I come to him more than that."

This, he said affirmed the generous and swift response of Allah to our smallest efforts.

He said it was not about how much you read, it was about showing up sincerely, with even the tiniest effort and trusting that Allah will magnify His blessings.

Menk also said the Quran does more than offer spiritual reward, it transforms one's character and heals the heart.

"The Quran is the divine word of Allah, completely unique and powerful. Spending time with it does not just bring spiritual reward, it nurtures your heart.

"Through the Quran, you connect to Allah, the Owner of your heart and in doing so, your heart begins to heal and become purified.

"This connection transforms you, becoming more self-aware, more forgiving toward others and as you forgive, Allah forgives you," he added.

Meanwhile, Faith Events founder Khairul Amar Razali said the conference served as a meaningful space for attendees to reconnect with their faith and reflect on life’s bigger purpose.

"This gathering is more than just an event, it is a sacred space for spiritual renewal. A moment to pause, listen with intention and reflect with sincerity.

"May every step taken to attend be counted as an act of worship and may every moment here draw us closer to the One who knows our souls best," he said during the event.

CIMB Islamic chief executive officer Ahmad Shahriman Mohd Shariff shared that the bank which was in its second year partnering with Faith Events said this year, they were focusing on one major event which ran for two days featuring three international Islamic scholars.

Last year, he said there were five events held with global speakers and 12,500 attendees.

"At CIMB Islamic, our role extends beyond organising events. We aim to support customers in both their financial and spiritual growth by encouraging reflection, core values and uplifting others," he said.

He also shared that the invited scholars for the "Serene Soul: When Desires Meet Divine Orders" conference, including Mufti Menk, brought diverse global perspectives especially from non-Muslim majority countries which offered fresh and valuable insights into practising faith within Malaysia’s multicultural society.
