Damansara's drug cartel claim under police probe – NCID director
The controversy arose after the influencer posted on Instagram, claiming she had insider intel on a drug cartel in the area.

SHAH ALAM – The Federal Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) is investigating claims by a social media influencer who alleged she had information on a drug cartel operating in Damansara.
NCID director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the matter when contacted by Sinar Daily.
“This matter is under the observation of NCID at Bukit Aman. We have conducted investigations and taken action,” he said.
The controversy began after the influencer posted a series of Instagram stories, alleging she had insider knowledge of cartel operations in the area but was “brushed off’ by the police.
She alleged that when she went to the Damansara police station to lodge a report while the alleged perpetrators were gathered at a location, she was told it would take “two to three days” before any raid could be conducted.
She later said she felt helpless and feared for her safety when it seemed the police could not assist.
The following day, however, she updated that an officer from the Federal police had contacted and met with her regarding the information provided.
“When I met with the police officer from Bukit Aman, the officer explained politely and made it clear that ordinary citizens cannot simply criticise the authorities without understanding the process.
“The officer clarified that in drug-related cases, immediate action such as a raid cannot always be carried out. The reason behind the three-day wait is to allow further investigations, which helps prevent negative consequences for the complainant and reduces the risk of foul play.
“The main point is that dealing with drug cases, especially those involving cartels, is a complex process for the police because operations often take place in confined spaces such as offices or homes. Therefore, when a cartel is suspected, it is not as straightforward as launching immediate action,” she said in a latest update.

Commenting on the allegation that surfaced, Hussein clarified that the influencer’s experience is also being investigated to verify the sequence of events.
“Regarding the allegation involving a social media influencer who went to the Damansara police station and questioned why immediate action was not taken, this is also being investigated to determine and verify what actually happened,” he said.
The case has sparked attention online, with many questioning the handling of such sensitive information and whether the influencer’s claims could aid in uncovering organised drug activities in the Klang Valley.
Sinar Daily attempted to contact the influencer for further details, but she declined, citing concerns for her safety.
