SHAH ALAM – Former Asean Para Games gold medallist Anas Zul Amirul Sidi and his wife, Suffi Sofea have officially divorced after eight years of marriage, announcing they parted ways amicably.
Suffi shared the news on social media, confirming their divorce was finalised on Sept 17 at the Syariah Court under talak satu, following a petition she had filed on Aug 25.

“Yes, it’s true, Anas and I have officially divorced. There was no drama outside the court and everything went smoothly.
"I prayed for clarity and if our marriage was no longer meant to be, I asked Allah to ease the process. Alhamdulillah, everything was made easy," she said.
She clarified that she made the announcement to address speculation after friends and followers began asking about their marriage.
“Many people kept asking if they had seen Anas here and there or whether we had really separated. This was my official clarification so no one needed to guess anymore,” she added.
Suffi confirmed their daughter, Bunga Kayyisa, would live with her, with both parents committed to co-parenting.
“We agreed to co-parent as usual. As seen on social media, the three of us would still be together for Bunga.
"Please pray that the matters of custody and child support will be eased," she said.
Reflecting on the end of their relationship, Suffi said they entered and left the marriage in peace.
“We went to court together, left together, even had breakfast and laughed afterwards.
"We got married in a good way and we parted in a good way. There was no drama or conflict," she added.
Now focused on freelance work in copywriting, cupping therapy and content creation, Suffi thanked her friends for their emotional support.
Anas also shared his own message, clarifying that he chose to speak publicly to avoid rumours and negative assumptions.
“I made this post to prevent slander or people from forming the wrong impression about me.
"We’re still co-parenting Bunga and focusing on her future. Please pray for the best for us," he said.
Anas first gained prominence as a para-swimmer, winning gold medals for Malaysia at the Asean Para Games.
Born with an intellectual disability, he built an impressive sporting career through discipline and resilience.
In recent years, Anas had stepped back from competition to focus on his mental health, openly sharing that well-being is just as important as physical strength.
These days, he divides his time between coaching, his love of Tamiya model kits and being a devoted dad.
