Where to eat in Kuala Lumpur for under RM15
Here’s the lowdown on where to eat, what to order and which fresh spots are worth your time, all while keeping your wallet chill.

Eating in KL on a budget? Say less. If you’re a food-obsessed whose wallet screams 'wait till payday,' Kuala Lumpur still serves up fire plates for under RM15.
From kopitiam classics that taste like nostalgia to night-market dives where the satay is the real main character, this city makes cheap-eating feel like a flex. Here’s the lowdown on where to eat, what to order and which fresh spots are worth your time, all while keeping your wallet chill.

Start with the OGs: kopitiams and hawker hubs. These spots are where grandmas would approve and where your nasi lemak or roti kahwin still hits like home.
Warung Kaklong in Cheras is a local legend; they sell mini nasi lemak packets, and even with the addition of fried chicken or sambal squid, your bill barely nudges past RM12.
Over in Kampung Baru, Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa keeps things classic; a plate with rendang or ayam goreng still slides in below RM15 if you don’t overload on extras.
If your vibe is night market, Jalan Alor and Petaling Street are where your stomach will be happiest. Hawker stalls dish out asam laksa or curry laksa for RM8 - RM10.
Need a proper rice based meal? Head to the bustling mixed-rice counters at Sungei Wang Plaza Food Court and the cheap fan stalls inside Menara AmBank or Wisma Central, where a plate piled with rice, veggies and a protein rarely tops RM10.
