GSF mission: 'What we faced is nothing compared to those in Gaza' - Farah Lee
She said what they experienced was likely less than one per cent of the daily human rights violations endured by Palestinians.

SEPANG - Activist and social media personality Nurfarahin Romli, better known as Farah Lee, recounted the ordeal faced by volunteers of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission, including the violation of their basic rights during detention by the Israeli forces.
However, she said, what they experienced was likely less than one per cent of the daily human rights violations endured by the Palestinians.
Farah was among 23 Malaysian activists who arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), here, last night (Tuesday).
On Oct 2, the 23 activists under the GSF mission were detained by the Zionist regime’s military after their ship was intercepted while in the waters of R3 Red Zone, in the Mediterranean Sea and then taken to the port of Ashdod, Israel.
Speaking to reporters upon her arrival, Farah said their experience under Israeli's unlawful detention had tested their faith and dignity as Muslim women.
“What I’m wearing on my head is the symbol of sumud of us women, GSF volunteers, where our rights to practice religion and belief were denied.
“Our hijabs were confiscated, we were humiliated in front of men who were ajnabi (non-mahram) and we had to use white T-shirts to cover our hair and heads to protect our dignity as women,” she said in a press conference upon the delegation's arrival at KLIA.

Farah added that the team was also denied access to basic needs during their detention including access to clean water, medication and sanitary products.
She said there was also violence and other forms of mistreatment against them.
“However, what we experienced is probably less than one per cent of the daily human rights violations faced by the people in Gaza,” she added.
She said the GSF volunteers will be sharing more about their experiences on their mission to break Israel's illegal siege during a gathering slated to be held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, tonight (Wednesday).
The volunteers were reportedly released from Israeli custody and departed from Ramon Airport, Israel, at 6.45pm Malaysian time on Monday before arriving in Istanbul at 8.40pm Malaysian time.
