SHAH ALAM – Nothing says home quite like a comforting bowl of noodles.

Secret Recipe celebrates Malaysia’s love for hearty, flavourful meals with the launch of “Mee Time”, an exciting new range for noodle enthusiasts that pays homage to the country’s diverse food traditions.

Bringing together an assortment of Malaysia’s most popular noodle dishes, Secret Recipe’s latest menu unites local favourites from across the nation, offering diners the opportunity to savour authentic tastes and enjoy a true Malaysian dining experience.

Secret Recipe's spokesperson said “Mee Time” celebrates Malaysia’s noodle culture by bringing people together to enjoy local flavours from across the nation.

"Curry and Laksa are more than just noodles; they form a part of our Malaysian culture. Being a local Malaysian homegrown brand, we hope ‘Mee Time’ creates a special moment for our guests to come together to enjoy their me time, while savouring the unique varieties of ‘Mee’ that represent the different corners of Malaysia,” the spokesperson said.

The “Mee Time” collection introduces three new signature dishes, Sarawak Laksa, Johor Laksa and Penang White Curry Mee each inspired by the distinctive flavours of their respective regions.

The Sarawak Laksa (RM23.50) features a spicy coconut-based broth infused with shrimp, shredded chicken and omelette strips for a rich, multi-layered flavour. A squeeze of lime and a dollop of sambal add the perfect finishing touch to this East Malaysian favourite.

From the south, Johor Laksa (RM24.50) offers a hearty, fish-based gravy thickened with herbs and spices, served uniquely with spaghetti instead of traditional noodles. Its creamy, aromatic sauce makes it a comforting dish perfect for any occasion.

Meanwhile, northern flavours shine in the Penang White Curry Mee (RM24.50), featuring a luscious coconut milk curry broth topped with shrimp, chicken, sambal sotong and tofu puffs. A spoonful of fiery red chilli paste brings the dish to life with an extra kick of heat.

In addition to the new selections, Secret Recipe continues to serve its crowd-pleasing classics, including Singapore Laksa (RM22.50), Penang Asam Laksa with Mackerel (RM23.50) and Curry Seafood Laksa (RM24.50), ensuring there’s a comforting bowl for every craving.

My top picks from the new Mee Time menu have to be the Singapore Laksa and Sarawak Laksa.

The Singapore Laksa hits all the right notes. It is rich, creamy and perfectly balanced with just the right hint of spice, the kind of broth you would want to savour till the very last spoonful.

The Sarawak Laksa, on the other hand, feels slightly refined for Peninsular palates. The usual herbal punch is toned down, resulting in a smooth, flavourful bowl that’s simply delightful.

Guests can also enhance their meal with delicious sides such as the Fish Cake (RM9.90), Deep Fried Wanton (RM11.50), Sampler Trio (RM19.90) and Spiced Chicken Meat Roll (RM11.90).

To complement the feast, choose from sparkling beverages like Rose Citrus Sparkle, Ume Strawberry Sparkle, or Lychee Citrus Sparkle (RM10.80 each).

Now available at all Secret Recipe outlets nationwide, except AEON Mall Taiping and Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, the “Mee Time” menu invites everyone to rediscover the joy of Malaysia’s favourite comfort food.

So, take a moment for yourself, gather your loved ones and indulge in a true taste of home, only at Secret Recipe.
