KOTA KINABALU – Parti Warisan announces plans to build a railway linking major towns across Sabah.
Its president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the initiative was among Warisan’s promises to the people of Sabah ahead of the 17th state election.
Shafie emphasised that the party was focusing on improving basic infrastructure, creating job opportunities and establishing new industries according to five development zones across the state.
“Each zone has different industrial and development priorities, such as education hubs, tourism, power plants, agriculture and seafood farming.
“Two dams will also be constructed in Kinabatangan and Lahad Datu.
“An international port will be built, along with a railway connecting Kudat, Sipitang, Keningau, Tawau and Sandakan,” he said while presenting Warisan’s manifesto in Kota Kinabalu on Sunday evening.
He added that additional programmes would include free fish cages and swiftlet houses for the community.
