SHAH ALAM – A viral 35-second video showing a homeless man being splashed with water and kicked outside AmBank’s Taman Maluri branch has triggered widespread concern and prompted a response from the bank.

The drama unfolded when the man lying on the walkway before a female security guard splashed water on him, allegedly to force him to move.

Moments later, a middle-aged cobbler working nearby was captured kicking the man and telling him to leave.

The incident sparked widespread anger among social media users, with many condemning the behaviour and insisting that no one deserves such treatment.

In its statement, AmBank expressed regret over the incident and emphasised that no individual should ever be treated in such a manner.

The bank issued the statement after the video continued to circulate online, drawing public attention to the actions of both the security guard and the cobbler.

AmBank clarified that the security guard involved was a “third-party” personnel employed by an external security provider appointed by the bank.
