'I've never heard DAP say Umno is good' - Dr Akmal
He said that despite various efforts made by Umno, there had been no such acknowledgment from DAP leaders.
KUALA LUMPUR – Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said he has never heard leaders of the DAP praise Umno as a good party.
He said that despite various efforts made by Umno, there had been no such acknowledgment from DAP leaders.
Instead, he claimed, Umno continued to face condemnation and insults, particularly after the case involving Umno president Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi was classified as no further action (NFA).
“We have done many things, all kinds of efforts. Even though there are leaders who say it is fine to work with DAP, that they can change and that DAP has changed, I have never heard DAP say that we are good in any way.
“I have never heard any DAP leader say that Datuk Seri President (Ahmad Zahid) or Umno has become good… never.
“What I hear is that when the Datuk Seri President received an NFA, they continued to condemn and insult him,” he said in his policy speech at the Umno Youth Assembly at the World Trade Centre (WTC) here on Thursday.
