What we know about the e-hailing sexual harassment case in Johor
The PSV licence of the driver involved has been cancelled with immediate effect.

The Transport Ministry has taken swift action following a viral video showing an alleged sexual harassment incident involving an e-hailing driver and a female passenger in Johor Bahru. Here is what is known so far.
What happened?
A 20-second video that went viral on social media appears to show a male e-hailing driver attempting to touch a young female passenger seated in the rear of the vehicle while asking for her age in Mandarin.
The clip triggered public anger, with many calling for firm action against the driver and urging the victim to lodge a police report.
What action has been taken?
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licence of the driver involved has been cancelled with immediate effect.
The decision, issued by the Transport Ministry (MOT) through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), bars the driver from operating on all e-hailing platforms.
“The ministry will not tolerate any behaviour that compromises passenger safety and is prepared to support victims to ensure police action is taken,” Loke said.

What about platform safety?
Loke said the ministry, through the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), will summon all e-hailing operators, including Grab, to present improvement plans to strengthen passenger safety.
This includes reviewing existing safeguards and response mechanisms for handling complaints involving drivers.
What is the police doing?
Johor Bahru South police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat confirmed that police have launched an investigation into the incident.
“We are aware of the video and investigations are being carried out from all angles. Individuals involved are being identified and witnesses will be called if necessary,” he said.
However, police said no official report has been lodged so far by the victim or any other party.
Police have urged anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Johor Bahru South district police headquarters hotline at 07-218 2323.
