Hamzah rejects invitation to return to Umno
“There is no need to join Umno. Many parties are already with me."

PUTRAJAYA – Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has confirmed that he will not return to Umno despite an open invitation from the party through its Rumah Bangsa initiative.
However, the Larut MP did not rule out the possibility of cooperating with the party led by Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in advancing the Reset agenda he is promoting.
“There is no need to join Umno. Many parties are already with me, so I will see how best to move forward for the future of the people.
“What matters to me is that everyone agrees that we need to reset what has happened in the country because there are things that clearly require correction.
“We need strength to carry out this Reset agenda and of course Umno can be one of the parties that should join this struggle to ensure that the issues facing the country can be resolved properly,” he said when met at an iftar event here on Monday.

Earlier, Umno was reported to have opened its doors to former members who had been expelled or suspended, as well as individuals wishing to rejoin the party.
Umno Supreme Council member Razlan Rafii had also urged Hamzah and his supporters to return to the party instead of forming a new political party.
Meanwhile, Hamzah said the process of registering Parti Keluarga Malaysia (PKM) is currently underway after its application was rejected by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) in 2022.
However, he said several aspects still need to be refined.
“Of course the discussions involve all the details. I do not want anything to be left out, for example in terms of the party constitution when establishing it.
“There are some matters that I feel do not align with my character as a fighter. That is why I need time to review them,” he said.
