PETALING JAYA: Legendary group KRU and rock icon Ella were among the notable recipients at the Bisnes Sinar Awards (BISA) 2026, in recognition of their contributions to the country’s creative and entrepreneurial landscape.

KRU was honoured with the Creative Industry Leadership award while Ella received the Celebrity Entrepreneur Inspiration award.

The recognition was given in appreciation of their contributions and influence in the country’s entrepreneurial and creative industries.

KRU remains one of the biggest names in the local creative industry, having built a strong brand and expanded its influence across various segments of the creative and entertainment business.

KRU member Datuk Norman Abdul Halim expressed his appreciation for the recognition.

“While we have received other awards in various categories organised by third parties, this is the first time a media organisation has recognised us as entrepreneurs.

“This is a significant moment as it acknowledges the achievements of the KRU group of companies and the contributions of myself, Yusry and Edry to the industry. It is truly meaningful for me and for KRU,” he said when met.

Meanwhile, Ella, whose real name is Nor Zila Aminuddin, was selected for the Celebrity Entrepreneur Inspiration award in recognition of her active involvement in business and agropreneurship, as well as her role as an inspiration to many women entrepreneurs.

Ella, a co-founder of Ben Jawi Plantation, has been involved in chilli fertigation farming since 2017. She later ventured into fashion through her brand Rockqueen.

The awards were presented by Sinar Harian Group Editor-in-Chief Zambri Rambli and Sinar Karangkraf chief executive officer Farah Hussamuddin.

The prestigious ceremony was officiated by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong at Royale Chulan Damansara here on Wednesday.
