Special Johor DUN sitting? 'Not confirmed' - Umno leadership
Earlier, 26 Johor Umno Division chiefs attended a committee meeting held at the Johor Umno Liaison Body office here on Friday.

JOHOR BAHRU - The speculation surrounding a special sitting of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) that is said to pave the way for its dissolution on June 24 continues to draw attention, with the state Umno leadership remaining tight-lipped on the matter.
Johor DUN Deputy Speaker and Ayer Hitam Umno Division chief Datuk Samsolbari Jamali said the matter had yet to be confirmed.
"Not confirmed," he said.
Earlier, 26 Johor Umno Division chiefs attended a committee meeting held at the Johor Umno Liaison Body office here on Friday.
The meeting was chaired by Johor Menteri Besar and Johor Umno chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
Also present were Johor Umno deputy chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan and Johor Umno Information chief Md Israk Abdullah.
Also in attendance were the heads of the Johor Umno wings - Wanita chief Asiah Md Ariff, Pemuda chief Noor Azleen Ambros and Puteri chief Rina Farhana Abdullah.
After the meeting, Onn Hafiz, who is also the Johor Barisan Nasional chairman merely smiled at the media when approached and no press conference was held.
"Excuse me," he quipped as he made his way past.
A division chief who was approached said the meeting had focused solely on outreach programmes for the people and not on a date for the Johor state election.
"We discussed work plans, there was no talk of election dates," he said briefly.
Attempts by the media to obtain comment from other division chiefs also proved futile, with most responding only with a smile and declining to say anything.
The Johor state election (PRN) has remained in the spotlight following the spread of a message about a special DUN sitting that is alleged to precede the dissolution of the Johor assembly.
The message went viral after Onn Hafiz announced last Saturday that BN Johor would be contesting all 56 state seats in Johor.
In the 2022 Johor state election, Umno and BN won 40 of 56 seats, while Pakatan Harapan — comprising DAP — won 10 seats, with PKR and Amanah winning one seat each.
Perikatan Nasional won three seats - Bersatu took two, Pas one - while Parti Ikatan Demokratik (Muda) also won one seat.
The Johor state government's term is only due to expire in April 2027.
